Property Tax Independence Vote Gets Wide-Spread Media Coverage

Yesterday’s vote on SB76 in the Senate Finance Committee moved us through a major hurdle in moving this legislation forward.  During this time it was difficult, outside of a few media outlets, to get press coverage on these bills.  The importance of yesterday’s vote can be seen in the wide-spread coverage of that vote in press outlets across the state.  The Associated Press picked it up and many newspapers simply carried that AP release.  While it may be the same article, it’s the same article appearing in various newspaper outlets across the state.  Other newspapers, like our own Lebanon Daily News, wrote a more comprehensive look article on the bill.

Sometimes we get caught in our own windows and don’t get to see the bigger picture.  This blog posting is simply to demonstrate the far reaching press coverage of this vote.  It’s not all of them but I wanted to give you a glimpse at the news coverage we’ve received.

Also not included here are the many press releases from supporting legislators and candidates.  Those press releases are often sent out to their constituents who are on electronic media mailing lists.

The point is simple: Yesterday’s vote was a major victory in this battle and the media coverage and press releases are only helping to spread the word on this issue.  The more people who know across the state, the more support we have.  The more support we have, the better our chances of seeing this realized.
